Here's something a lot of buyers don't realize until they're deep into their search: a Gretna address and Gretna Public Schools are not the same thing. The district reaches well past the Gretna city limits into neighborhoods with Omaha and Elkhorn mailing addresses. At the same time, some homes with a Gretna address actually feed into Millard Public Schools.
So if Gretna schools are on your must-have list, searching by city alone will cause you to miss a big chunk of homes. That's exactly why we built this page. The listings above are pulled by school district, not city, so you're seeing every active and pending home in the Gretna Public Schools district, newest first.
Gretna Public Schools covers the city of Gretna plus a growing slice of southwest Omaha and parts of the Elkhorn area. Based on current MLS listings, homes in the district show up in neighborhoods like:
Boundaries can split a neighborhood or change as the district grows, so treat this list as a starting point, not the final word.
Gretna has grown fast, and the district has grown right along with it. It now has two high schools, Gretna High School and Gretna East High School. Middle schools include Gretna Middle School and Aspen Creek Middle School, and elementary schools include Aspen Creek, Falling Waters, Gretna Elementary, Harvest Hills, Palisades, Squire John Thomas, and Whitetail Creek.
When we built this page in October 2026, there were roughly 430 single family homes, townhomes, and condos active or pending in the district, with an average list price around $540,000. A lot of that inventory is newer construction, which is a big part of why this area keeps attracting families. Want to narrow it down? Check out Gretna new construction homes or browse Gretna homes between $400K and $500K.
Not always. Some homes with a Gretna mailing address are in Millard Public Schools, and some homes with an Omaha or Elkhorn address are in Gretna Public Schools. The mailing address and the school district are two separate things.
Gretna Public Schools has two high schools: Gretna High School and Gretna East High School.
Yes. Neighborhoods like Tiburon, Arbor Gate, Hills of Aspen Creek, and Whitetail Creek have Omaha addresses, and homes there regularly show up in Gretna district searches. Always confirm the specific address before you buy.
Check the address directly with Gretna Public Schools before you write an offer. School assignments can change as the district grows, and the MLS school field is a helpful guide but not a guarantee. We're happy to help you verify any home you're serious about.
Our listings refresh from the Great Plains MLS every 15 minutes, and this page shows the newest listings first.
